Huayou Recycling's Innovative Solution Selected as "Outstanding Case of 2025 Auto New Productivity"

Recently, the 2025 Auto New Productivity Development Forum was grandly held, co-organized by China Certification & Inspection (Group) Co., Ltd. and China Economic Information Service, with support from China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. and China Automotive Industry Consulting Committee. Huayou Recycling was successfully selected as an "Outstanding Case of 2025 Auto New Productivity" for its innovative triad practice of "technology leadership + zero-carbon operations + global footprint," becoming the sole enterprise recognized in the lithium battery recycling sector.


Sponsored jointly by the national-level think tank China Economic Information Service and the authoritative research institution China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, this evaluation focuses on the core of automotive industry technological transformation and new productivity development. It aims to identify innovative and forward-looking practices, establish replicable and scalable models, set industry benchmarks, and provide solutions to key challenges in enterprise development. The selected cases represent the highest level of practical achievement in auto industry new productivity.

Huayou Recycling’s award-winning proposal introduced an innovative "Waste-to-Material" green circular model. Collaborating with leading global automakers and battery industry leaders, the company integrates global resources to explore customized, diversified partnership pathways tailored to specific enterprises. This initiative builds a deeply collaborative industrial ecosystem, achieving dual benefits of economic and environmental value. Currently, the model has achieved a stepwise utilization capacity of 1.5 GWh and an annual recycling utilization capacity of over 65,000 tons, operating at full maturity.

 

With the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle industry, scientific recycling of end-of-life batteries has become a critical industry necessity. "Stepwise utilization first, followed by recycling" has emerged as the preferred comprehensive solution. Moving forward, Huayou Recycling will continue to optimize and innovate green solutions for lithium battery comprehensive utilization, collaborate with partners to focus on closed-loop ecosystem construction, and contribute China’s sustainable development model to the global new energy vehicle industry.
